Hurtigruten - Northern Lights

Experiencing the natural phenomenon known as the Northern Lights, which is caused when solar flares collide with the magnetic field of the Earth, is one of those life events that should be at the top of the bucket list of everyone who is looking for an exciting new adventure. However, despite its popularity, finding this colourful light show can be difficult. Not only does the sky have to be completely dark and devoid of clouds, but the most active times of the year for the aurora are late March and late September, which are roughly in conjunction with the spring and fall equinoxes.

What exactly do you do in the event that, despite your best efforts to organise and save money for what you believe will be a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, you don't get to see the Northern Lights? Those who are currently on the most recent expedition trip offered by Hurtigruten Expeditions and are hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights can take a moment to catch their breath because they may be eligible for a complimentary future voyage.

The cruise line has what it calls the "Northern Lights Promise," which states that if there are no "Northern Lights Occurrences" during its 15-day expedition—whose MS Maud will depart from London and stop in Norwegian destinations such as Tromso, Lofoten, and Narvik—it will give passengers who are eager to still see the aurora a second opportunity to do so. The cruise ship will depart from London and stop in Norwegian destinations such as Tromso,

1 "A Northern Lights Occurrence is defined as a sighting of the Northern Lights from the ship that is recorded by the ship's deck officers and announced to passengers on board," Hurtigruten states on its website. "A Northern Lights Occurrence is defined as a sighting of the Northern Lights from the ship," 1 "The length of time that an Occurrence lasts can range anything from a few minutes to a few hours.
The decision made by the deck officers on whether or not a Northern Lights Occurrence has taken place is final."

The Northern Lights adventures offered by Hurtigruten are incredible experiences, regardless of whether or not the aurora borealis is visible. A variety of onboard and landing activities and amenities befitting an explorer will be made available to passengers. These include lectures and discussions led by experts, photography classes, the opportunity to participate in research projects through Hurtigruten's Citizen Science Program, shore excursions led by the expedition team, and hot tubs and a sauna for those times when passengers need to warm up. Because the MS Maud provides complimentary Wi-Fi in each of its 297 staterooms in addition to its three on-board dining establishments, passengers never really have to feel as though they are disconnected from the outside world.

Even so, the fact that Hurtigruten is giving you a free cruise guarantees that you won't be let down. After all, the reason you came to this region was to witness the Aurora Borealis, and there's no amount of enjoyable activities that can make up for the fact that sometimes mother nature just won't play nice. When you arrange your free trip, you will, however, need to take into consideration a few stipulations. You are only allowed to select one of two traditional itineraries, either The Voyage North (seven days) or The Voyage South (six days), and you are required to travel during the next sailing season, which runs from October 1 to March 31. The package only includes accommodations in indoor cabins with twin beds; however, you have the option to upgrade for an additional cost. Other costs, such as airfare, expenses incurred while on board, and excursion fees, are not included either.

Do you want the year 2023 to be one for the record books? There are now six trips that can be booked for this year, and departures are scheduled from September all the way through December. Prices for the expeditions begin at $5,443 per person.
