We're focusing on architecture and design in our August features. We've never been more eager to unwind in a cutting-edge coffee shop, travel the globe on the most gorgeous subways, or check into a lovely new hotel. Now we're thrilled to celebrate the shapes and structures that make our world beautiful with an encouraging tale of how one historic city is prioritising accessibility, how a Swedish cemetery teaches us crucial lessons about design, an investigation of how climate change is affecting the future of architecture, and a look at the essential components to build a dream hotel.

There are few things better than a nice hotel stay, and for us at TripSavvy, staying somewhere with a little buzz is a significant part of that. These eagerly awaited hotel launches have it all, whether you're searching for world-class dining options, totally distinctive spa services, or a fashionable hangout in the centre of a huge city. Look to these eight upcoming hotels as you begin to plan your 2023 travels to make sure you have a genuinely luxurious stay.

The Lana, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The Lana, the tenth property in the iconic portfolio that includes Le Meurice and the Beverly Hills Hotel, among others, will be opened by the prestigious Dorchester Collection next year, marking the company's first venture into the Middle East. There are many flashy openings in Dubai, but The Lana stands to represent the City of Gold well. It has 225 rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, interiors designed by Gilles et Boissier, and eight restaurants, including the "fire-forward" Fuego, which will be overseen by a star chef who has yet to be named.

Hotel Genevieve

Hotel Genevieve, Kentucky's Louisville
The Hotel Genevieve, which has the name of a local variety of limestone used in bourbon production, will open in Louisville's NuLu area the following spring. The hotel, which was conceptualised by the Austin-based Bunkhouse Group and created by Memphis's LLW Architects, intends to highlight the diverse individuals who have called Derby City home throughout the years in addition to Louisville's equine and bourbon history. The interior decor of the Hotel Genevieve, which spans six storeys and 122 rooms, was created by Philadelphia's ROHE Creative.

Bellustar lobby

Tokyo, Japan's Bellustar and Hotel Groove
Next year, the venerable Japanese developer Tokyu Group will make a statement in the hip Shinjuku neighbourhood with the launch of a massive mixed-use complex near Seibu-Shinjuku Station. 635 total hotel rooms will be available, 97 of which will be in the opulent Bellustar and the rest in the more reasonably priced (but no less stylish) Hotel Groove. Both hotels may take advantage of the "sky spa" on the 47th floor, the "sky dining" on the 45th, the movie theatre, and the 1,500-person performance hall.

Mandarin Oriental Vienna

Austria's Mandarin Oriental, in Vienna
Vienna, which has been named the most livable city in the world, will get a new luxury landmark in 2023 when the Mandarin Oriental opens its doors in a 19th-century Vienna art nouveau structure on Riemergasse. Goddard Littlefair, a London-based architectural firm best known for designing Budapest's Corinthia Hotel and the Intercontinental Hotel Berlin, will create the 151-room hotel. Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge and Resort

HeartSong Lodge & Resort in Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
Many people agree that Dolly Parton's five-story resort in the midst of Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains is one of the most anticipated openings in 2023. HeartSong is "basically about the Smoky Mountains and why I keep returning home year after year," according to Parton. "It's where I refuel and maintain my sense of reality. Every hour of the day and in every season, the mountains' magnificence is simply inspiring." The resort will have a large lodge and be next to Dollywood's DreamMore Resort and Spa, which debuted in 2015. Many of the rooms will have balconies to show off the region's famously beautiful scenery.

Banyan Tree Valle de Guadalupe

Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's Banyan Tree Valle de Guadalupe Resort, Spa, and Winery
Why wouldn't one of the top hotel and resort developers in the world want to participate in the growing wine tourism industry? In order to ensure sustainable viticulture, Banyan Tree's next 30-villa resort in Mexico will include the company's first in-house vineyard. The Michel Rojkind-designed ultra-luxury resort will have all-pool villas, a Banyan Tree spa, and five dining establishments. Native medicinal plants produced on-site at the bio-endemic garden sanctuary, including hoja santa and white sage, will be included on spa menus.

Conrad Orlando

Conrad Orlando, Florida; Orlando
Next summer, Hilton's opulent branch will open the Conrad Orlando at Evermore, which will feature 433 guestrooms, 51 suites, and 10 enormous family suites. The Conrad promises to be an opulent getaway if you're worn out after visiting parks; it offers a renowned spa and a water garden. The hotel is a component of the Evermore Orlando Resort, which is situated next to Walt Disney World and has two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses along with a 20-acre tropical beach and an eight-acre crystalline lagoon with water sports.

Naviva

A Four Seasons resort in Punta Mita, Mexico is called Naviva.
One of the tiniest properties in the portfolio—but also one of the most distinctive—is the newest Four Seasons to open. First adult-only tented resort of its kind in the Americas, Naviva has 15 opulent tents spread across 48 acres on a private peninsula. Here, guests are encouraged to occupy their days with relaxing pursuits such as breathwork, woodology, or custom temazcal rituals. Additionally, visitors to the Naviva will have access to the nearby Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. The price of a stay here, which includes meals, snacks, beverages, and one 60-minute spa treatment, starts at $3,950 a night.
