It's not just Olympians who can curl. While you wait for your next flight, you may now try out the winter sport as well.

The lone hotel at JFK is the TWA Hotel, which is renowned for its constantly shifting, year-round outdoor activities. The hotel used to have a roller rink and, in the fall of last year, a bumper car course that was first come, first served.

Curling, a well-liked winter activity that dates back to 16th-century Scotland and is a perennial Olympic favourite, is now being offered to guests by the hotel.

The game has seen a rise in popularity worldwide in recent years, according to the Olympics, who listed it as one of the most popular sports for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.

The TWA Hotel curling rink is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. The skating rink runs on a first-come, first-served basis and does not accept bookings. There is everything needed for the game provided.

When you've completed curling and are prepared to go inside, take a trip down memory lane at The Sunken Lounge, where you can order some vintage 1960s cocktails, or stop by The Paris Café by Jean-Georges, where the cuisine is influenced by vintage in-flight menus.

You can also visit the hotel's museum or rooftop pool if you're itching for something else to do.
