I'm a traveling father, and these are the ten things I need to get through the summer.

Kids need a lot of equipment. Everyone's lives are made simpler and more enjoyable by these choices.

Shibumi Shade

I haven't emotionally prepared myself to start thinking about going back to school or cooler weather even though the summer is almost over. So, here is a list of the stuff that has been keeping my family and me comfortable and stylish during the summer and getting us ready for the upcoming hot months.

Shadow Shibumi

I have almost tried every form of beach sun shade imaginable, and I thought it was a Sisyphean task. All of that changed with the Shibumi Shade. With a four-minute setup, a single extendable aluminum pole and a lightweight UPF30 ripstop polyester sheet may provide wind-powered sun protection for you, your gear, and five additional people—or a group of resting children after a long morning. Additionally, it disassembles into a carrying case that is similar in size and weight to a rolled beach towel. You may get along for the day with just 2 mph of wind, which is a very typical seaside breeze.

Speaking about beach towels, I generally find them to be annoying. By the end of a day on the sand, they pill, take a very long time to dry, and become very heavy. Consider a Turkish Towel, which is thin, quick-drying, and available at Huckberry. The designs are more "interesting local textile I picked up on vacation in the Mediterranean" than "'80s freebie beer towel," and a set of four of them takes up less space in the bag than one of the conventional big ones.

Trailhead chair by Yeti

Beach chairs are typically either too low or too flimsy for me, making carrying them a balancing and tensile strength challenge. The Yeti Trailhead Chair is a game-changer because of this. On the beach, at the campsite, or next to the fire pit, it is robust and comfy, and it folds into its carrying bag and sets up in the same amount of time as any other chair. If you don't mind periodically getting up to split the drinks, any of Yeti's outstanding Tundra hard coolers make fantastic seating in a situation.

Bags Bogg

Similarly, I have a love-hate with beach bags. I appreciate having things ordered and cleanable after the sand has been introduced. It must be large enough to hold the towels, drink bottles, extra clothing, and phones and Kindles while still being lightweight. I began to notice Bogg Bags and now vouch for them. Rubber is a durable, stiff, lightweight, and comfortable carrying material. With a short brush-off, they repel water and sand, and they even contain a waterproof insert for your electronics and other valuables. Get two bags: one for your belongings and one for beach toys. Children enjoy the bag just as much as the contents inside.

Big River Collapsible Tote & Dry Bags

It's convenient to have a dry bag packed for a change of clothes and the electronics for rainy days on the water in a kayak or when the waves are rough. The Summit to Sea Big River Dry Bags are robust and waterproof, but they're also simple to carry, attach to your boat, or wear on your back. I also use them to pack the car, pairing them with the incredibly practical and tough RUX Collapsible Tote. This item compresses to fit in the car for further trips to the beach or the grocery store and offers all the advantages of a cardboard box with ten times the durability and lifespan.

River Tube RTIC

There are several inexpensive yet amusing pool inflatables available, including pizza slices, unicorns, and even a pug face. However, classics are timeless for a reason, and RTIC's Tough River Tube significantly improved the basic innertube. It has PVC plastic and a woven cover to keep it safe outdoors or in the backyard, and it also has a backrest and a cup holder to make it more comfortable while maintaining its ruggedness. Additionally, it has rope anchors so that you may connect to other floaters and imitate a lazy river in any body of water.

Zephyr Flyer Tree Swing in Tupelo

This summer, my kids begged me to get them a tire swing (they may have seen one on an episode of Bluey), but I felt there had to be a better way after seeing a wasp nest grow in the one at our playground as a child. Wagons, patio furniture, cornhole, and yes, the magnificent Zephyr Flyer tree swing are all made by Tupelo Goods, which also produces other attractive and durable modern versions of traditional items like wagons and outdoor furniture. Your front yard will look lovely because it is simple to install, safe, and visually blends current and vintage styles.

Grill and smoker model PK 300AF

I have previously extolled the virtues of the kettle grill, but I am here to inform you that I now use the PK 300AF as my primary outdoor cooking appliance. The PK300AF is the pinnacle of versatility as it is both a grill and smoker, with exceptional heat retention and carefully controlled airflow for both direct and indirect cooking. It builds on both the 70-year heritage of the PK grill and the celebrated legacy of pitmaster Aaron Franklin. It gives your setup a retro vibe and uses less charcoal than any other grill to go from smoking brisket slowly to searing steaks over high heat.

X Series Smokeless Fire Pit by Bree

The Bree X Series is not only one of the highest-end fire pits on the market today, but it also invented smokeless fires, giving you the coziest and simple-to-care-for fire all night. It's the most attractive pit in the neighborhood, whether you have it free-standing or incorporate it into your outdoor stone setting. Additionally, you can prepare food for all of the people who enjoy your open, no-smoke flame from the summer until the fall thanks to a variety of culinary accessories, including a kettle and hook for stews, a sear plate griddle for chops, and a completely adjustable grill. Don't forget to purchase a multi-tool stoker from Pit Command so you can move the logs around safely for the ideal slow burn.

Lightweight ten thousand shirt

I promised myself this summer that I would do a lot of outdoor exercises to balance off all the tequila and grilled meat. Unfortunately, that implies a lot of perspiration, so for hikes, runs, and yoga, I've been wearing the Ten Thousand Lightweight shirt. I can finish the workout with a jump in the ocean or pool and be dry to drive home in just a few minutes when paired with their Set of shorts, which are waterproof and gym-ready.
