Glasgow's top 6 Christmas markets for 2022

2022-11-13  Rose Hebrew

Glasgow has a strong appreciation for independent shops on almost every street.
The largest city in Scotland is filled with independent coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, florists, and bookshops, so it's no wonder that most holiday markets here provide a robust selection of regional and artisanal goods.
There has never been a better opportunity to promote community, the handmade, and small enterprises in the run-up to Christmas since two of Glasgow's largest Christmas markets aren't scheduled to take place in 2022.

Alchemy Festive Markets Glasgow

1. The Alchemy Experiment's Festive Artists & Makers' Market

The Alchemy Experiment frequently holds exhibitions and concerts while also serving as a great coffee shop and a cozy event location.
The first three weekends of December are dedicated to their annual holiday market, which features a variety of local artists, crafters, and small businesses offering everything from jewelry and candles to trinkets and other works of art.
The most challenging choice is when to drop by because pop-up exhibits, workshops, and movie screenings will also happen throughout the month.
You may find out who will set up stalls each week by watching their social media.

2. The Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair

The Country Living Christmas fair is Glasgow's largest Christmas market, in a roomy space that hosts concerts and other large-scale events.
A platform for Q&A sessions with business leaders, celebrity chef demonstrations, creative workshops, a Champagne bar, food stalls, and hundreds of vendors selling goods for the home, food, and fashion are all present.
VIP tickets have extra benefits, such as endless prosecco, for those who want more.
It is the place where in a single day.

3. WASPS Artists Studios Christmas Market

A Christmas market featuring the creations of more than 25 artists and crafters will take place at WASPS Hanson Street Studios at the end of November.
The market is held on the open-concept ground floor of the studios, which are appropriately decorated in East End style.
On any given day, the large structure is crowded with various creatives invited to display and sell their work from Saturday, November 25, to Monday, November 28, including painters, stained-glass artists, and ceramicists.
You can anticipate a lot of friendly people, discussions with vendors about their crafts, and a wide selection of unique handmade items.

4. This Is Not A Craft Market – Festive Edition

On one of the first three Saturdays in December, those looking for a particularly kid-friendly event should visit Rags to Riches in Govanhill.
Bring your kids and dogs to browse the 35 local manufacturers' and small businesses' stalls before going to the courtyard for hot cocoa, live music, and mince pies.
The trendy Southside, where Rags to Riches is situated, is home to some of Glasgow's top restaurants and has a strong sense of community.
Rags to Riches and other local social businesses are managed by the Govanhill Baths Community Trust, which is made up.

5. The Rouken Glen Annual Christmas Charity Event

An annual Christmas event is held at Rouken Glen Garden Centre to raise money for various charities every year. The funds raised in 2022 will support Alzheimer Scotland's initiatives to assist those living with dementia. Visit the garden center in Giffnock, which is close to Glasgow and offers plants, equipment, and ornaments in addition to baubles, Christmas cards, and other items. This event, which takes place on the evening of November 9, is a one-time chance to take advantage of a buffet, a raffle, and a variety of prospective Christmas gifts at a 20% discount while also knowing that your money is supporting a very deserving cause. What better way to feel festive this season?

6. The Night Market – Xmas Special

In December, the Night Market will feature 60 vendors over two joyous evenings, providing a treasure trove of unique Christmas gift ideas at its kiosks.
Dinner and drinks are also taken care of thanks to the street food vendors and an available bar.
The stunning Cottiers Theatre, a former church complete with Gothic architectural details and substantial stained-glass windows by 19th-century Scottish artist Daniel Cottier, should motivate anyone to attend this market.
A holiday bazaar for adults.
