London's top karaoke establishments

2022-12-24  Diana Solomon

These are the top locations in the city for achieving your pop-star ambitions.

karaoke

It's reasonable to state that the practice of amateurs using the karaoke microphone frequently has a poor reputation. But these karaoke bars in London do things differently, and as a result, they are always full on the weekends. The days of having to sing along in busy bars at resorts are behind you, and now you can do it in luxurious booths while enjoying a buffet of small plates and, if you'd like, unlimited bubbly. These are the great locations in the city, running from east to west and south to north, to belt out a ballad or two.

Good Voice

The first stop for partygoers looking for a song or two is Lucky Voice, a sort of London tradition. The current venues in London include Liverpool Street, Holborn, and Soho, and the franchise has now spread to the coasts of Brighton and Dubai. Brunch parties, which include limitless champagne and drinks, a massive pizza, and time in a booth, are perfect for celebrating important events. Early in 2023, Lucky Voice, which has long dominated the city's karaoke scene, is scheduled to open on Liverpool Street. It will have the biggest wrecking ball in London as well as a 15-person pod with a personal waiter.

BAO, Shoreditch

London, Bao

When you book an evening in a private karaoke room at Bao's Borough or Shoreditch locations, you can sing along and eat dumplings. Up to 14 aspiring pop stars may fit in each, and the booths are set up so that one performer can take center stage at once. While the plump bao buns stuffed with fried chicken, beef short rib, and curry cheese are a must-have, there are plenty of other delectable options as well. For example, you can smother sweet potato chips in plum pickle ketchup and pick at glazed tofu while listening to over 1000 Asian and Western songs.

Addresses: BAO Noodle Shop, 1 Redchurch Street, London E1 6JJ; BAO Borough, 13 Stoney Street, London SE1 9AD

Price: Starting at £69 for two hours per room.

The Four Thieves

One of those pubs in London with something for everyone is The Four Thieves. Midweek quiz evenings bring in customers from all over southwest London, comedic nights pull up-and-coming comics, and bottomless breakfasts are among the most enjoyable in the city because the location selects vintage arcade games. Unbeknownst to many, the Four Thieves has become one of the top karaoke bars in London as a result of a recent activity addition: a private room with a sound system that offers a classic playlist of songs to shout out with pals. It is one of the most reasonably priced locations in the city to break out a few ballads, so have the Kleenex ready. Hire begins at just £5 per person per hour.

The Four Thieves can be found at 51 Lavender Gardens in London SW11 1DJ.

Cost: Starting at £5 per person per hour

Old School Yard

The Old School Yard, which offers arcade games, themed parties, cocktail masterclasses, and private karaoke rooms, changed the drinking scene in London Bridge. London Bridge has long been recognized for its fantastic range of traditional British boozers. Five to eight people can fit in the little room, while up to 20 people can fit in the bigger room. Choose from traditional drinks like the martini or cosmopolitan at the bar, or split the rum punch for a boost of confidence before entering the stage. Keep coming back for plates of sizzling chicken wings, meaty burgers, and bowls of greasy fries.

Location: 111 Long Lane, The Old School Yard, London SE1 4PH

Price: The tiny karaoke room starts at a minimum purchase of £100.

Cocktail Club Karaoke Room

Cocktail Club

The locations of The Cocktail Club have long been popular hangouts for affluent Londoners, especially during happy hour. The Cocktail Club Karaoke Room, a realm of musical possibilities and zesty mixology for up to 45 people, is something even less known about it. Jam jar Daiquiris, Espresso Martinis, and anything else you can think of is only a shake away due to the dedicated bartender. Dance, sing, and drink the night away.

The Cocktail Club - Shoreditch is located at 12 Sclater Street in Shoreditch, London E1 6HR.

A welcome bellini and two house drinks are included in the price of a 90-minute time slot, which starts at £20 per person.

Simmons Greek Street

Be careful, indecisive karaoke-goers - Since there are more than 50,000 songs available on Simmons' entertainment system, it's wise to have a playlist in mind before going. Euston Square and Soho locations provide karaoke rooms; the former is one of London's largest and can accommodate up to 60 people, while Soho can accommodate 15. A visit made during Simmons' happy hours will result in a more affordable night out for everyone, with bottles of beer going for $2.50, bottles of wine starting at £12, and two cocktails going for £10.

Simmons Bar is located at 7 Greek Street in London, W1D 4DF.
